Difficult times or time of opportunity?

I am not happy to say I have lived through 5 recessions. I also have to admit this last one is not the worse one I have faced. During the Carter years there was a recession that hit my family very hard. Both Isabel and I were laid off on the same day, we had just bought a house for 35k (wow) and our mortgage, taxes, and insurance was $392. a month and we had two children.

What did we do! We went out and celebrated. I read once you should always celebrate situations good or bad!

Well I tried a few jobs I did not like and I tried a few shifts I hated.. yes HATED! So one day I was in Norwood (these were the days you could actually walk in and apply for a job) walked into Norwood Industrial Park and applied for a job. John Bundzen asked when can I start I said tomorrow, he said you got it. That was Microcom and my career took off during what I believe was one of the worst situations and recession we had ever faced.

There were gas lines interest rates were at 21% from the government. It seemed like everything was out of control. Somehow Reagan came in fixed things (or things fixed themselves) and the country and world prospered until the next recession. Its phases almost like trends! People lost fortunes and some became millionaires!

The same will be said of this recession. Of course I may be gone but someone will pen something similar to what I am doing now.

Living in Hudson I see the guys on the corners with signs (work for money); (have children need help). (Disabled w/children need help)! I can sympathize with the latter. Going through the disability process takes months and meanwhile there is no income. However like we survived the previous three recessions we or I will survive this one!

I remember my mother dropping off groceries at the door and leaving because I was embarrassed to ask and she knew I needed. I am no longer a believer in God, but I believe something or someone watches over me. Rob and I, (like it was with Isabel and I) always make it through. Just when things feel like they are falling apart something or someone things of us and it turns out ok.

Rob says (I like this) nothing matters as long as we are together) he is sweet! But he is right! We would live in the woods in a tent if need be (with Bette of course). We have become a society of wants and needs and have forgotten that its love that matters! As long as you have love things work out!

So during difficult times, take the opportunity to verify you are in love with which you’re with, that you appreciate your friends and family and for those that believe verify you have a relationship with the creator. Doing this will make sure you prosper during difficult times!

However when all else fails you may see me and Rob on the corner of Little Rd and RT 52 with a sign (we fucked up and could use some help
)!
