Every time Labor Day comes along all I can think is of Christmas! It could be you start seeing all the Christmas displays going up at all the stores, but it's not. When I was little and school started the focus was on Christmas and so that stuck in my mind to this day!
All I remember of school when it came to holidays was Christmas and Easter! I loved drawing and most of the time my drawings were displayed as you walked into the classroom so my focus was what to draw for Christmas and Easter.
They say the first 5 years molds you for the rest of you're life. I would say the first 10 years do that! It's my nature based on my experience that it's the first 10 and of course being my nature I have to disagree with what they say!
As far as I am concerned the lights would go up with the tree right before Thanksgiving! But then I would stand out like a sore thumb, but if you know me that is exactly how I like to stand out.
It just seems that from now to Christmas time moves so fast then it drags for a while as we deal with winter and speeds through summer and it keeps repeating until your days are over. I remember sitting in school looking at the clock wondering when the class never mind the day would end. Today I blink and Christmas is here!
Another reason we kind of all start looking toward Christmas right about now, is because no matter how bad things are or how bad people can be, somehow everyone is at their best behavior, bad news turn to good. For a while the propaganda from the media and others relaxes a little and we get a break from constant bad news. To me we should start looking toward Christmas like the people who prepare for the Thanksgiving Parade do at Macy's! The day after!
So this December 26 lets all think it's almost Christmas and just maybe those that control what we see will focus on the good in the world, the good in people and we all can act as if it's almost Christmas!
